Edward Lavallin founded Poseidon Scientific Services and is our Principal Marine Biologist.

'I worked with Edward on a large environmental baseline and pre-decommissioning survey in the North Sea. He was an integral part the team and from the outset showed a high level of enthusiasm for the project. Based on his experience and knowledge he was able to perform tasks to a high standard which led to a very successful campaign. The project was multidisciplinary and we were at times using bespoke survey equipment, I was impressed with how quickly he adapted to the mobilisation and use of such equipment, as well his attention to detail in closely adhering to sample processing protocols. I would highly recommend Edward as an environmental contractor and we will use his services again, the client has also requested the same team for future projects due to this hard work and professionalism.'

James Harding, Senior Marine Scientist at Benthic Solutions

'I had the pleasure of working with Ed during a 4D seismic survey off the coast of Myanmar in spring 2018. Throughout the project, Ed demonstrated a high level of dedication and deep knowledge of marine mammal ecology, biology and conservation. His enthusiasm and natural ability to work within a team was greatly appreciated, as was his ability to handle people from different cultures and countries. I would be very happy to recommend Ed for those seeking a professional Marine Biologist.'

Interfacing between geophysical operations and environmental concerns can often be quite challenging but Ed handled his side in a very professional manner.'

It was a pleasure working with Ed as he preformed excellently throughout, I recommend him for future jobs requiring environmental habitat assessments, baseline surveys as well as marine mammal observing.'

'I strongly recommend my colleague, Edward Lavallin, for employment. I have had the pleasure of working alongside him on several occasions conducting 2D & 3D seismic surveys, where he has been entrusted with a great deal of environmental responsibility. I have had the opportunity to observe Edwards's professional skills as well as interpersonal style. He is consistently pleasant MMO & PAM operator, and takes on all assignments with enthusiasm and dedication. I wish that all my co-workers had his attitude. Edward’s performance capacity has been outstanding. He has been diligent in his observation and reporting efforts and is familiar with the mitigation requirements specified by JNCC. Edward has a good eye with the camera and his photographs were pleasure to see. I very much look forward to working with him again.'
